Requests are accepted from Ripley and four nearby towns in Lauderdale and Tipton counties. Each block below covers what is specific to that community. Independent providers confirm whether they cover your address before arranging any visit; coverage outside these towns depends on provider availability.
Ripley 38063, Gates 38037, Henning 38041, Halls 38040, Covington 38019
Ripley, TN 38063
Ripley is the Lauderdale County seat, with 7,800 residents in the 2020 Census and 3,172 households. Requests are accepted from homes anywhere in town, around the courthouse square and along US 51, SR 19 and SR 209, as well as from the rural roads just outside.
SR 209 runs into downtown, meets SR 19 at a half-interchange and is the southern end of SR 208. Ripley was one of six Tennessee cities picked for downtown revitalization, and the work on City Square was completed in May 2010. UT Martin and TCAT both have Ripley campuses.
Each July, on the second Friday and Saturday, Ripley City Park hosts the Lauderdale County Tomato Festival honoring the county’s tomato growers (Lauderdale County tourism events), right in the hottest weeks of the year. Electricity comes from Ripley Power & Light, a TVA distributor based on South Main Street, and natural gas from the Ripley Gas, Water & Wastewater Department (Lauderdale County utilities list).

Gates, TN 38037
Gates is a small Lauderdale County town of 664 people (2020 Census), about 9.7 miles northeast of Ripley in a straight line. It grew up around the junction of SR 88 and SR 209, and homeowners here can send the same residential repair request.
Settled around 1850 and incorporated in 1886, the town takes its name from Revolutionary War general Horatio Gates. It sits roughly 65 miles northeast of Memphis and is the hometown of football player George Taliaferro. The 2000 Census counted 290 housing units.

Henning, TN 38041
Henning lies about 5.4 miles south-southwest of Ripley on US 51 and had 871 residents in 2020. SR 209 starts at US 51 just south of town and runs through downtown, so requests from Henning usually reach providers already working around Ripley.
The town was named for railway official William H. Henning. It is known as the boyhood home of “Roots” author Alex Haley, whose house is now the Alex Haley Museum and Interpretive Center, a state historic site. Fort Pillow State Park, 1,642 acres on the Chickasaw Bluffs, is nearby.
Ripley Power & Light lists Henning in its service area, although some rural addresses in Lauderdale County are on other electric cooperatives. The 2000 Census counted 406 housing units here; gas service has not been verified, so mention your heating fuel in the request.

Halls began in 1882 as a railroad stop called Hall’s Station, named for Hansford R. Hall. Arnold Field, the former Dyersburg Army Air Field, trained B-17 and B-24 crews in World War II; a Veterans’ Museum stands on the grounds, and the Lauderdale County Fair is held there each fall.
Ripley Power & Light runs a Halls office on South Church Street, and Forked Deer Electric Cooperative has its headquarters in town. Natural gas is supplied by the Halls Utility District (Lauderdale County utilities list). A tornado struck Halls on January 17, 1999.

The railroad reached Covington in July 1873, electric power followed in 1894 and municipal water in 1898. The South Main Street Historic District keeps about 50 houses from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, and the Tipton County Museum includes a nature center and Veterans Memorial. Isaac Hayes was born here.
